I like showing the parts of Nice that sit just past the obvious centre, whether that is the pastel facades around Port Lympia or the coastal path over Mont Boron, both a short walk from the crowds on the Promenade. On camera I try to explain how a place was built or shaped rather than only naming it, since a harbour laid out for trade or a headland fortified for defence both make more sense once you know why. I trained originally as a coastal guide, which shows in how much attention I give to the sea itself. I like a calm pace and plenty of pauses.
