I worked as a punt attendant on the Cherwell for two summers before I started guiding, so I know exactly which stretches of the river actually look good on camera and which ones just look muddy. My sessions follow the water rather than the streets, since that is the Oxford I got to know first and still like best. I keep the phone low, close to the water, so you see the willows and the punts the way a passenger would rather than a bystander on the bank. I am still fairly new at this, but the river itself does a lot of the work for me.
