Bence Tóth

I am from Buda, the hilly side of the Danube, and I grew up below the Castle Hill in the first district. My grandfather was a lecturer in history who lost his job in 1957 after the revolution and spent the rest of his working life in a library basement, and his stories are the reason I studied history at ELTE. I spent a year in Seville, so I also guide in Spanish. My tours are about Buda, the communist decades and the Danube Bend, where I go hiking with my friends. I try to keep history short and the walking long. I like quiet, and I like when people ask me the difficult questions about Hungary today, because I will answer them honestly. I am a big basketball fan and I play in an amateur league. I also make a very good lecsó, which is the Hungarian answer to ratatouille. These days I guide Budapest live on video: I walk the streets with my phone and answer your questions as we go.
