I have lived on Via Etnea my whole life and can tell you exactly which corners give the clearest view of the volcano on a good day. On camera I walk the long straight avenue toward the mountain, explaining why the street was laid out this way after the earthquake rebuilding, and I try to time sessions for when Etna is visible rather than lost in haze. I studied geography and volunteer with a local hiking group, so questions about the volcano itself come naturally to me. I keep my tone calm even when the mountain is doing something dramatic.
