Björg Sigurðardóttir

I grew up on the hill they call Brekkan, below the church, and I still take the same steps down to the harbour most mornings before a session. On camera I like showing how the town's modernist church sits above the older wooden houses of Innbær, two very different periods a few minutes apart on foot. I trained as a museum guide at the local history museum before moving to video, so what I explain comes from proper research rather than repeated stories. Five years of guiding here has taught me to slow down for the light, since Akureyri looks different depending on the season and the hour.
