Bruno Sorrentino

I have guided in Naples for close to fifteen years, and the Catacombs of San Gennaro are still the site I find hardest to explain properly in a short session, since most of what makes them remarkable sits below ground where a phone camera struggles in low light. On camera I stay in the entrance courtyard instead, describing the layout and the history of the site in detail before anyone decides whether to visit separately in their own time. I find viewers usually ask more questions about this site than about any of the city's better-known monuments.
