Calogero Spadaro

I was born in Kalsa and watched the neighbourhood change from a rundown corner of the old town into one of its liveliest districts. On camera I walk the narrow streets slowly, pointing out buildings still marked by wartime damage next to others that have been carefully restored. I like ending near Piazza Marina, under the old ficus trees, since their size always surprises people who only know Palermo from its churches and markets. I have guided here for over a decade and still find something new to show most weeks.
