Can Öztürk

I grew up near Kayaköy and spent a lot of time as a child exploring the empty houses on that hillside, probably why I ended up guiding sessions there as an adult. On camera I slow down at the chapel, since the paintwork fragments inside are easy to miss if you move too quickly. I also take viewers out to Saklıkent Gorge, further inland, where the temperature and the light change noticeably as you go deeper. I like showing places with a clear before and after, a village once full, a gorge cut slowly by water, and letting the pictures do most of the explaining.
