Cristian Marinescu

I trained as a historian focused on Transylvanian Saxon towns, and Piața Sfatului is still the square I enjoy explaining most, since the baroque and Gothic buildings ringing it were built by several different communities living side by side. On camera I move from the square to the Black Church next door, pointing out the smoke damage from a seventeenth-century fire that gave the building its name. I keep a formal pace and welcome questions about how the town's communities shared this small centre. Video suits a Gothic church well, since the camera holds the building's scale far longer than a quick glance from the square allows.
