Piața Sfatului and the Black Church
Highlights
- A square shared by several communities
- A church marked by an old fire
- Guild power inside one building
- Brasov's centre, explained in order
- Gothic and baroque side by side
About this tour
This session walks Piața Sfatului, Brasov's central square, before finishing at the Black Church next door. You see the baroque and Gothic buildings ringing the square, then the church's smoke-stained stone, a mark left by a seventeenth-century fire. The route finishes at the former council building on the square.
We open with a short sound check on the square. I keep a formal, detailed pace and take questions about the town's different communities as we go. Afterwards I send a short note on the buildings and dates covered.
This suits anyone wanting a proper first look at Brasov's old town. It also works well as an opening session before the old walls walk.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide
- Questions to your guide all the way
- A short list of places to visit later
Not included
- Internet connection

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
