Dora Restović

The Dominican Monastery's cloister is one of my favourite quiet corners in the old town, so I try to start there before most visitors are up. From there I usually cross to the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of the oldest working pharmacies in Europe, still through its original courtyard. I trained originally in conservation work, which is probably why I linger on details like door hinges and worn stone steps longer than most guides would. Five years of doing this on camera has taught me how much calmer these two cloisters feel earlier in the day.
