Dominican Monastery cloister
Highlights
- A Gothic cloister, quiet and worn
- Carved capitals on old columns
- A library of historic manuscripts
- One of the old town's calmest corners
- A slower start to the day
About this tour
This session walks the Dominican Monastery's cloister, one of the quietest corners in Dubrovnik's old town, timed for early in the day. You see the worn stone steps and carved column capitals in the Gothic cloister, then the old library wing that once held one of the city's most important manuscript collections. It is a calmer counterpoint to the busier main streets.
We move through the cloister with a sound check, then reach the library for the second stop, taking questions about the manuscripts and the building's history. A short list of names follows once the session ends.
It suits anyone who prefers a quieter, slower-paced session away from the crowds. It also suits an early booking specifically, since the cloister is calmest before mid-morning.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
