Duarte Antunes

I studied history in Lisbon and came back to Cascais because the Cidadela and its old fortress walls never stopped pulling at me. Most visitors see the town's beaches and miss that it was a working fort guarding the mouth of the Tagus long before it became a resort. When I guide on video I slow down at the gates and courtyards so you can read the stonework and the changes each century left on it. I like a camera that lingers, because a wall built in the 1500s rewards a second look more than a quick pan across it.
