Eirik Brekke

I am a fisherman's son from the island of Sotra, just west of Bergen, and I worked on my father's boat every summer until I was twenty. Then I studied marine biology at the University of Bergen and worked for three years at the fish market, selling crab and shrimp to tourists and telling them where the fish came from. I live in Nordnes, the old part of town on the peninsula, in a small white wooden house that leans a little. I speak Norwegian and English. I do two things: I show you Bergen's seafood the way locals eat it, and I walk you through the old wooden houses of Nordnes and Sandviken. I am not a talker, I prefer to show things, but I know a lot about fish and I will tell you which crab to buy. I now guide live on video from Bergen, with my phone as the camera and time for your questions all the way through.
