Elif Kaya

I live in Şirince, in a stone house my family has kept since my great-grandmother's time, and I know which wine house still presses peaches by hand every autumn. Before this I studied tourism in Izmir and worked seasons at hotels along the coast. Filming from the village lanes took some getting used to, but now I like framing a doorway or a courtyard vine and letting people ask about what they see rather than following a fixed script. My favourite moment on any call is when someone notices the same climbing rose I pass every day and finally asks about it.
