I have lived two streets from the Dom Tower my whole life, and I never tire of explaining why the cathedral lost its nave in a single storm in 1674 while the tower stayed standing. On camera I like holding on the tower long enough that you understand its scale before the history starts. I trained as a guide the old way, on foot with groups, and had to relearn how to guide through a screen, mostly by talking less and pointing more. What I like best about video calls is that someone in a different time zone can ask a question I would never get standing in a crowd.
