Eneko Zabaleta

I trained in architecture before deciding I preferred talking about buildings to designing them, and San Sebastián gave me two very different subjects to specialise in, Chillida's iron sculptures at one end of the bay and Moneo's glass cubes at the other. On camera I explain how each piece was designed specifically for its setting, the sculptures for the tide and the cubes for the river light. I keep my sessions short and focused on one work at a time rather than trying to cover the city's whole modern architecture in one go. Video suits detail-heavy subjects like these better than a group tour ever did.
