I have guided along Sorrento's cliffs for almost twenty years, and I still choose the same spot above the bay because the line from the cliff edge straight across to Vesuvius never gets old, whatever the season. At the Chiostro di San Francesco I slow right down, since the intertwined arches of the cloister reward a careful look rather than a quick pass through on the way to the gardens next door. My cousin's family still presses their own lemons on a terrace above town, and I like showing the groves themselves before ever mentioning the bottle they end up in.
