Limoncello from the terraced lemon groves
Highlights
- Lemon trees netted against the season
- Terraces built on steep ground above town
- The specific variety behind limoncello
- A grove, not a tasting room
- Where a famous bottle actually starts
About this tour
This session walks through the terraced lemon groves above Sorrento, the source of the fruit behind the town's best-known drink. You see the netting used to protect the trees, the steep terraces they grow on, and hear how the harvest connects directly to what ends up bottled as limoncello. It is a look at the groves themselves rather than a tasting session.
I walk between the rows at an easy pace, pointing out details about the variety and the growing method, and take questions throughout. I send a short note afterwards on where the same lemons turn up locally.
This suits anyone curious about where Sorrento's food and drink actually come from. It also pairs well with a session in town on the cathedral or the old cloister.
Included

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
