Guro Haaland

I studied history and spent a couple of years working seasonal shifts at Bergenhus Fortress before guiding became a full job. My main session walks the fortress grounds, explaining how the site has guarded the harbour entrance since medieval times through later additions under different kings. A second, lighter session heads out to Nordnes and the aquarium building, filmed from outside, where I describe the marine life inside rather than showing it directly. I like pairing something old and something newer in the same working week, since Bergen holds both closer together than most cities its size.
