Gustav Palm

I studied history with a focus on the Danish period of this region, since Malmö belonged to Denmark until the seventeenth century, which Malmöhus Castle still makes obvious in its layout. My main session walks the castle grounds, one of the oldest still-intact Renaissance castles in Scandinavia. A second session continues into Slottsparken, the park surrounding it, where I point out how the moat and green space have been kept rather than built over. I like showing how much of Malmö's older history survives simply because a castle needed the space around it left alone.
