Ignazio Ferraro

I studied music in Palermo and worked front of house at Teatro Massimo before I started guiding, so the building still feels like home to me. On camera I hold on the grand staircase and the columned facade, then explain how the theatre took over twenty years to finish and still ranks as the largest opera house in the country. I also like telling the story of a film crew who once used those same steps for a famous closing scene, since people often recognise the spot before I even say why. I try to keep the history specific rather than general.
