I have shopped at the Bolhão market since before its recent restoration, and I still remember what it looked like scaffolded and half closed. On camera I move between the fish, meat and flower stalls, pointing out which traders have been there for generations and which are newer since the market reopened. I ask the same questions I would ask for my own kitchen, about what is actually in season that week. I keep my phone close to the counters so the produce is properly visible. I am honest when a stall is overpriced for tourists rather than pretending everything is equally good value.
