I have spent more mornings than I can count in the water off Las Canteras before starting a shift, and I know exactly where the reef breaks calm the sea even when a storm hits the rest of the island. I switched to video calls two years ago and found I like it, because I can angle the camera low over the sand and show the reef line the way a diagram never could. German and English both come naturally after a decade working with visitors here. I keep the pace slow enough that questions have room to land before I move on.
