I studied modern history before I started guiding, and Cecilienhof is still the building I find hardest to walk past quickly, since the 1945 conference held there changed how the whole region was later divided. On my calls I like tracing that story further out to the Glienicke Bridge, where the same division played out in quieter prisoner exchanges for decades. I keep a fairly formal pace, laying out dates and context clearly before opening things up for questions. Video works well here, since a single steady shot of the bridge or the palace facade says more than a long spoken introduction ever could.
