I grew up a short walk from the rapids and still time my calls so the water's flow is at its strongest for the camera. On a session I explain how Tampere grew up entirely around Tammerkoski, since the drop in the river once powered every mill in the centre. I studied industrial history at the local university and worked briefly at Finlayson before it became a museum district. I keep the phone steady on the water itself for long stretches, since the sound and motion carry more than I could describe.
