I trained as a botanist before I ever thought about guiding, so the botanical garden here, one of the northernmost in the world, is where my sessions naturally begin. On camera I move slowly between beds so you can see plants that should not survive this far north growing anyway, and I explain how the town's mild microclimate makes that possible. Four years of guiding has taught me to plan each session around the season, since the garden changes completely between June and October. I always answer questions live rather than rushing on, since most of what people ask is exactly what makes this garden worth showing properly.
