Krzysztof Kowalczyk

I spent thirty years at sea, first as a deckhand on fishing trawlers from Władysławowo and then as a mate on container ships of a Polish shipping line, all over the world. I retired to Gdynia, where I was born, and started guiding because I cannot sit still and my wife asked me nicely to leave the house. I know the coast of Pomerania from the water side better than most people know it from land. My tours are about the sea: the Hel peninsula, the fishing villages, and the three cities of Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia along the bay, especially Gdynia, which is a city built in the 1930s from nothing and has some of the best modernist architecture in Europe. I am not a polished speaker. I tell it as it is and I have a lot of sea stories, some of them true.
