I moved to Toulouse for a job that no longer exists and stayed for the light on the river, which is still the reason I guide the way I do. My favourite time to go live is the hour before sunset, when the brick along the Garonne turns a colour that never quite comes through in photographs the same way twice. I keep my calls simple and let the view carry most of the session rather than talking constantly. Viewers often just want to sit with the scene for a moment, and I have learned to let the silence happen instead of filling it.
