Lena Maier

I did my master's in art history at the LMU with a thesis on the Blue Rider painters, and I still get excited every time I stand in front of Franz Marc's blue horses in the Lenbachhaus. I have lived in Maxvorstadt for eleven years, first as a student above a copy shop and now two streets away with a view of a car park. Before guiding I worked in the education department of the Pinakothek der Moderne and ran workshops for school groups, so I am good at keeping people interested for two hours in front of paintings. I spent a year in Madrid, which is where my Spanish comes from and why I think the Prado is better than anything we have. My tours are for curious people, not only art experts. I will not make you look at forty paintings. We will look at eight properly. Outside work I swim in the Isar from May to October. I guide live on video now, walking Munich with my phone and answering your questions in real time.
