Lucía Reyes

I worked behind a cheese counter at Mercado de San Miguel for three years before I started guiding, so I still know most of the stallholders by name. On camera I move between counters asking the questions I used to get asked myself, what to try, what is overpriced, what only locals actually buy. I grew up eating my way through La Latina on Sundays after the Rastro market closed, and that habit turned into most of my sessions now. I speak fast when I am excited about a stall, so I try to slow down on the call and let the food do more of the talking.
