I grew up watching the Medienhafen change from a working dock into the striking modern district it is now, so I can explain the redevelopment from memory rather than a plaque. My sessions there hold the camera on the Gehry buildings' curved facades, and I explain what made the design so unusual when it first went up. I finish most sessions at the Rheinturm nearby, since the tower gives a good sense of how the whole district fits into the wider city from a distance.
