I have guided in Ankara for eight years, mostly around Kocatepe Mosque and the central square at Kızılay, two places that show how the modern city actually works day to day. On camera I like explaining the mosque's construction, which is more recent than most visitors assume from its Ottoman style. I also run a shorter call about Ankara's food, since dishes like pastırma and Ankara tava rarely get mentioned outside the city itself. I keep my sessions warm and unhurried, since a capital city deserves a slower look than most people give it.
