This walk covers Kızılay Square and the shopping street leading off it, the practical centre of modern Ankara. You see the open square first, then the busy pedestrian street with its mix of older and newer buildings. The session is a straightforward look at where Ankara actually spends its day, rather than its monuments.
I begin with a sound check at the square, then we move along the street while you ask questions about the city's daily life. I point out a few buildings that mark different decades of the street's development. At the end I send a short note on what we discussed.
This suits anyone who wants to see the working, modern side of Ankara rather than only its historical sites. It also suits a traveller orienting themselves before exploring further.

The camera takes in the open square at the heart of the modern city. I explain how the square became the informal centre of Ankara over the decades.
