Mikko Laine

I grew up on a houseboat moored below Turku Castle, so the river has always felt more like a street to me than water. On camera I follow the Aura from the castle down to the market square, pointing out which buildings survived the fire of 1827 and which are later copies built to match. I studied history at the university here and still get most of my facts straight from the museum archives rather than guesswork. I keep the phone low over the water when I can, since the river itself carries most of the story.
