Nejc Kranjc

I trained as an architect at the University of Ljubljana and I still spend half my week drawing extensions for other people's houses. The other half I walk. Ljubljana is small enough to see in a morning, which is exactly why I prefer to slow it down. Jože Plečnik designed the Triple Bridge, the market colonnade, the National Library and dozens of small things people walk past, like lampposts and benches, and my walk is about reading those details. I also run an alternative evening in Metelkova, the former barracks turned into an autonomous cultural zone, and a simple castle hill and old town walk for first-time visitors. I am calm, I talk in full sentences and I am happy to answer questions about Slovenian politics as long as we are not in a hurry. German comes from my mother, who is from Klagenfurt. Now I show Ljubljana live on a video call, phone in hand, and I answer questions as they come.
