I have driven the Georgian Military Road between Tbilisi and Stepantsminda too many times to count, and Dariali Gorge is still the stretch that gets people reaching for their phones. On camera I keep the vehicle window down and the phone steady against the frame so the cliffs read properly, since that road has carried travellers over these mountains since antiquity. I stop wherever the gorge narrows enough to feel it, and I explain what each fortress ruin along the way was actually guarding. Questions usually start once people see how tight the road gets between the rock walls, and I slow the session down for them.
