I tended bar in the old town for years before I started filming it instead, so I know which streets fill up first once evening starts and which stay quiet until much later. My sessions usually begin while the square is still fairly empty and end once the first terraces are properly busy, since that change is worth showing rather than just describing. I keep the camera at street level, following the light from shopfronts and windows rather than looking for anything dramatic. I leave the last part of the session open for questions about the old town at night.
