I grew up ten minutes from Cardiff Castle and I have spent years learning how three very different builders, Roman, Norman and Victorian, all left their mark on the same small site. On camera I like to move slowly between periods, since jumping straight from a mediaeval keep to a gilded Victorian room can be confusing without a proper pause. I trained as a heritage guide after years working in local archives, so I check my dates carefully before ever repeating them on a call. I keep a measured pace and always explain a term before I use it again.
