I have fished the Corrib since I was a boy, so the river running through the city, from the weir bridge to where it meets the bay at Nimmo's Pier, is territory I know properly. On camera I like pointing out details the water itself gives away, where the salmon run, how the current shifts with the tide, where herons wait for a meal. Seven years of guiding on video has taught me to keep the phone steady against the wind off the water and to slow down whenever something worth watching happens on the river. I answer questions live rather than rushing past them.
