I studied art history with a focus on the transition from Islamic to Christian rule, so the cathedral built directly on the site of Granada's main mosque is where most of my calls settle for the longest stretch. On camera I move slowly through the nave, pointing out where Gothic plans gave way to Renaissance ones partway through construction. Next door at the Capilla Real, I explain the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs with the same care, since the two buildings really tell one continuous story. I keep my pace steady, since both spaces reward patience over speed.
