I cooked for eleven years, first at a hotel in Matosinhos and then in a tasca near the Bolhão market that you will not find on any list because it has no sign. My tours are about what people in Porto eat on a normal day: bifanas at the counter, tripas à moda do Porto on Thursdays, grilled sardines in June, and the francesinha, which I defend against anyone who calls it a heart attack on a plate. The recipe arguments in this city are serious and I will share mine. I know the owners at every stop, and I choose places where the family still cooks. I speak Portuguese, English and Spanish. I do not do vegan tours, but I can adapt for vegetarians if you tell me when you book. Now I show Porto live on a video call, phone in hand, and I answer questions as they come.
