  • Corners of the old town most visitors miss

About this tour

This session shows Porto after dark, from Ribeira's lit riverside to a quieter corner where locals go once dinner is over. The camera looks across the Douro to the Dom Luís I Bridge lit up at night, then moves into streets away from the main routes. It is a shorter look at the old town's evening side.

The call opens with a quick sound check, then follows the two stops above with time for live questions between them. A short list of what was shown follows once the call ends.

This suits anyone who prefers cities at night or wants a brief, later look at Porto rather than a full walking session.

Included

  • Live video walk with a local guide
  • Questions to your guide all the way
  • A short list of places to visit later

Not included

  • Internet connection
  • Travel to the city

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Porto before heading out.

  2. Ribeira at night 21 min

The camera looks over Ribeira's riverside houses lit up after dark, then across to the Dom Luís I Bridge, its ironwork picked out against the night sky over the Douro.

  3. A quiet corner after dinner 21 min

Away from the busier streets, the guide walks a quieter corner of the old town where locals go after dinner, pointing out a small bar and explaining why visitors usually miss this stretch.

  4. Your questions 9 min

Time to ask anything about Porto: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 4 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Bacalhau and Vila Nova de Gaia, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Lisbon time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
