My family has worked in glass on Murano for three generations, so I film outside the furnaces where the trade is still very much alive rather than only in a museum. My other session covers the Squero di San Trovaso, one of the few surviving workshops where gondolas are still built and repaired by hand. I like explaining a craft through the people still practising it rather than treating it as something finished. I keep my pace relaxed and always leave time for questions about either trade.
