I trained as a historian before I started guiding, so Kurtuluş Mosque and the archaeology museum are the two places where that background is most useful on camera. On camera I explain how the mosque was originally built as a cathedral, a detail easy to miss from the building alone. I also guide sessions through the museum's Hittite and Roman collection, slowing down at pieces that connect directly to sites around the city. I keep my sessions brief and fact based, since I would rather cover fewer things properly than rush through more.
