I have swum and walked this stretch of coast since childhood, so the cliffs around Ponta da Piedade feel more like a neighbourhood to me than a landmark. On camera I take two different routes depending on the session, either down the steps to a quiet cove or along the clifftop path with the arches visible below, and I explain how the limestone here gets shaped by the sea over centuries. I keep the phone steady on the uneven ground rather than rushing the shots. Five years of guiding has not made that coastline any less worth filming to me.
