About this tour
This session follows the staircase down to Praia do Camilo, a small cove tucked between golden limestone cliffs just outside Lagos' old town. You see the wooden steps zigzagging down the cliff face, then the cove itself with its narrow strip of sand. The cliffs here are part of the same limestone coastline that runs toward Ponta da Piedade further along.
We start with a sound check at the top of the stairs, then move down to the cove for the second stop, pausing for questions about how the coastline formed. I send a short list of what we saw once the session ends.
It suits anyone drawn to dramatic coastline rather than a long beach, and travellers deciding which of Lagos' many coves to add to their own visit later. This session covers the staircase and the cove from the shore, not any swimming or boat access.

The camera follows the wooden staircase zigzagging down the cliff face, and I explain how these coves were carved out by the sea over thousands of years.

We reach the small cove at the bottom, and I point out the golden cliffs and the arches visible further along the coastline.
