My family has run jaunting cars from Killarney's High Street for three generations, so the road into the park and out toward the Gap of Dunloe is one I could describe with my eyes closed. On video I still walk it myself rather than riding, since a steady phone shows the mountains better than a moving trap ever could. I point out the shape of the pass, the old cottage at its foot, and how light changes on the Reeks through the day. Eight years of guiding has taught me to keep sessions unhurried, and I always leave time for a proper question about the route or its history.
