Thomas Pichler

I worked underground in the salt mine for over a decade before I started guiding, so the tunnels feel more familiar to me than most streets in the village. On camera I explain how mining here reaches back thousands of years, long before anyone called this an Iron Age culture in a museum label. I trained as a mountain guide too, which helps whenever a session climbs toward the skywalk platform above the rooftops. I answer technical questions about the mine in real depth, since most guests are more curious about that than about the view once they know I worked there.
