I grew up in Portugalete, right beside the Vizcaya Bridge, and the transporter gondola crossing the river on cables is still the structure I most want visitors to understand properly rather than just photograph. On camera I explain how the bridge lets ships pass underneath while still carrying people and cars across, a solution unusual enough to earn it a UNESCO listing. I also walk the promenade on both riverbanks so you see the whole structure from more than one angle. I find video guiding suits engineering better than most subjects, since a steady shot explains more than I ever could.
